A Deeper Dive

I am a bit of an anomaly, so I’ve come to find. I’m built differently.  While some are left brain operators, and others right brain managers, I survive with a unique balance of both.  As my life evolved – I dabbled in large corporate, small business development, entrepreneurship, volunteerism and non-profits only to draw the conclusion that my ability to tap into my inner creative spunk, flair or knack is the driver of my career enjoyment - so that is what I seek to do.

But, because I am also a focused, structured and process-driven individual, I find satisfaction in developing strategic plans and executing them in relatively short periods, which allows me to live in a very interesting space.

For me to love what I do, I have to find solutions to obstacles or challenges using creativity as a path. And, I have to see the solution from idea conception through execution in an expedited fashion (I think I’m allergic to long, drawn-out projects – ugh!). Once I’ve done that – I’m done. I vigorously slap my hands together and walk away.  Someone other than myself will perform the required day-to-day management and maintenance for any campaign I implement, because I am off to do the same exact thing over again for a different project with a different purpose for a new client. I move on feeling an immense sense of gratification, personally, while having delivered a strong value statement, professionally.

Exposure to new industries, problems and challenges stimulate my brain and stir something inside me that I relish. Now that I think of it, I’m not sure it’s the projects I love so much – rather, the people with whom I partner on these different projects.  The more I’ve come to learn about myself, the more I appreciate continually meeting new people and learning new things. Optimism and positive energy heighten my appreciation for the day.

My not-so-secret ambition

Apart from my professional life as a strategy, marketing and communications consultant, I am a passionate woman of God who seeks to uplift and encourage a younger generation of women.  A secret ambition of mine is to see more women redefine what it means to “win in this life” and partner with these women on mission to live that out. I hope to cause young ladies to shift their minds from being victims of circumstances to victors over circumstances.

This summary is not all encompassing. I am a wife, mother of three sons and much more.  Connect with me through the blog or linked in, and get to know more about me.
